Nadakadweep
Nadakadweep is a unique permanent theatre venue built in the middle of a paddy field at Vallachira in Thrissur District, Kerala. It was established in memory of the renowned theatre director Jose Chiramel. The Drama Island is located on a 34-cent plot of land near the Vallachira–Thaikkattussery Road. The venue has seating facilities for around 500 people to watch theatrical performances.
Vallachira is well known for its rich tradition of theatre and folk arts, and Drama Island adds to the cultural identity of the village. It provides a dedicated space for theatre performances, traditional art forms, and cultural activities, with the vision of developing a permanent platform for theatre.
